| 2014-03-05 | Soda47 | In Tactics Problem NR 98130: What about 2.Qh8++ ? | |
| 2014-03-04 | SicilianImplants | Thank you both :) | |
| 2014-03-04 | Tirajana | Sici, if I understand correcty your question, you can use the "arena" software, with any UCI engine. You may change any parameters i.e. deep evaluation of several variation lines. | |

| 2014-03-04 | SicilianImplants | Asides from tactics, books, and analyzing master games, does anyone know of a site or software that is good for improving vision/seeing moves 4 or 5 moves in advance? | |
| 2014-03-04 | Tirajana | Datr, firsth sorry for my Engish. The https://... is the identification of web servers transmitting in secure mode, i.e. encrypted. Normally it's necessary when trasmitting logon identification to bank, sellers, etc.; but here we talk about chess server without any useful infos for hackers. I believe that no risk at all; beside the application is not in open condition (=anyone can modify it) and the registrant/owner of the site is well now as in the public registers. Then i submit to java the http://..... | |
| 2014-03-04 | Datr | Thanks for the advice. My security system says it would prefer the site to be https: // is it not possible to change the site to this? There must be some risk to just http: even though I don't know what form that risk takes. Since I can play engines on Fritz I have decided to follow my systems advice. | |
| 2014-02-28 | Tirajana | N4PII and Datr - to override the Java security, you enter the JAVA CONSOLE and folder SECURITY allowing the ideachess.com (look exactly the http://... you can find in the browser address) | |

| 2014-02-27 | SicilianImplants | Thanks, Gianni!! | |
| 2014-02-27 | SicilianImplants | Tira, buscar en Google si tu no entiendes. Por ejemplo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2RaZ39yh_k | |
| 2014-02-23 | Datr | En passant e6 means the last move was a pawn move e7 to e5. The pawn can be captured, en passant, if there is a pawn on d5 or f5. | |
| 2014-02-23 | Tirajana |
Dopo aver chiamato un nuovo esercizio, questo si è presentato ma sulla destra della scacchiera è comparso un messaggio composto da un punto interrogativo [!] su tondo arancio e la scritta "en passant on e6". Cosa significa questa indicazione? Grazie |
|
| 2014-02-23 | Datr | I do, and the same time as used in User Stats, you know the time that is recorded when one attempts a problem. | |
| 2014-02-22 | Garykevinware | Who cares? What time zone? | |
| 2014-02-22 | Datr |
Zuril: I think it would be a improvement if Date and Time was given when a message is posted on the wall and a comment is posted to a problem. Currently only the date is given. Eg 2014-02-22 10:45 |

Chessboard update We just published the updated chessboard, a few fixes plus: • en-passant: a message is shown on the right of the board next to the title; • solution navigation with the mouse scroll wheel: simply move the mouse over the solution and scroll; • captured pieces updated during solution navigation; • promotion window correctly zooms pieces; • added support for IE8; browsers tested: Firefox, Chrome (win, linux and mac), Opera (win), Safari (osx), IE8, 9, 10, 11 (win) Enjoy |

| 2014-02-03 | Datr | N4Pll: I tried to play against Zeta today and my security settings wouldn't allow the program to run. I don't know how to override the security settings at this time so I will have to look into it. | |

To Datr: I would like to see you (play (menu)) Zeta computer and post your first win on the forum. You are better than me by about 100 ELO N4PLL |

Where is the write en passant now ? I've just tried the problem nr 123483 and i've not seen it so i could not consider some solution |
|
| 2014-01-25 | Datr | Originally only players with RD less than or equal to 100 were listed anyone inactive for about 2.5 months was removed. Now the RD is 150 so players aren't removed until about 4 months of inactivity. Personally I preferred the 100 limit. | |
| 2014-01-25 | Datr |
I have already made two suggestions: 1. When entering the Ranking Tactics Menu one should be taken directly to one's position, rather than having to scroll to find it, 2. In User Stats, The Ranking position should be given next to your ELO Rating It shouldn't be too difficult to write the code to do this. |
|
| 2014-01-25 | Garykevinware | There are already too many people, in the sense that long inactive players are still posted, and if you know your rating, you can compare yourself that way. | |
| 2014-01-24 | Janullrich |
Would it be possible to show some more players in the "Tactics ranking" table, so that more people can "find themselves" and get an overall idea of their position and ranking? It could encourage people to try and improve. Thank you for maintaining this site ! |

| 2014-01-20 | Datr | Both of Colin800's messages are Wrong, I have replied to his comments to point out his mistakes. | |
| 2014-01-20 | Colin800 | There is a problem with Problem NR 44019. ? made a alternative mate but it said wrong. But they are WRONG. 1 - Qf8 Kg5 2 - Qf6# | |
| 2014-01-20 | Colin800 | Problem 37189 question is WRONG. it can not be checkmate in two moves. and also given solution is wrong! White pawn would easily take rook | |

Zuril: Could you create a search engine about the place and players about under the chessboard? I found a number of games of my city and friends who play in that city. N4PLL |
